From the earliest days of man, creative uses for animals have arisen. Since the time of them Mongolian chief Timur and Sultan Muhmad Khan, many military uses have been created. These creative ideas are still created today, now modern day countries find many uses of animals such as monkeys, seals, dolphins, goats, elephants, and other animals in the military. Though the truth is right in front of our eyes, many people do not believe that these animals show up on the battlefield and in the oceans with humans defusing bombs and attacking enemies on the other lines. One of the first documented uses of animals in the military showed up around the year 1398. Some die but most live, even though this may save many lives this sacrifice of animals has also caused much controversy. On land dogs, goats and many other animals sniff out and detect bombs. In the water seals, dolphins, and some other animals detect and retrieve bombs (Story 1). This marine use is especially important and safer for animals due to the make and purpose of these underwater bombs. These marine uses actually go back to 1960. It started as a study of these marine animals and ended up discovering that these animals had brilliant sonar detecting skills that could help in finding underwater bombs. This expanded very quickly, and the use was soon used in wars, the first being the Vietnam War in 1965. The first use was when the US sent five dolphins to Vietnam in an effort to detect underwater bombs set up by the Soviet Republic. From there this use of animals in the military expanded. The dolphins had done their jobs and had saved many lives due to their brilliant sonar detection. This job well done inspired the militaries of the world to try this with other animals as well as dolphins. As countries continued this, the death and injury to these an imals increased as it should. Also to combat countries also using these military animals, militaries started training these animals even harder.
